At Hewes Quarter Horses we believe that good broodmares are treasured assets. It has been said that 75-80% of a foals inherited characteristics come from the dam. Taking this into consideration, we chose to base our foundation on a strong gene pool and build upon it. We sought out the closest living ancestors to AQHA mare legends Lady Coolidge, Dixie Beach, Little Sue, Miss Chubby and Mame Taylor and began building our mare power upon them. Our broodmares have been carefully selected from proven genetics for their ability to produce quality foals that are correct, athletic, quiet and highly trainable. We are extremely pleased with the consistency we are seeing and look forward to each new foal crop with anticipation.

We just can't say enough about this mare. She was the matriarch of our herd and she was just one of those mares you wish you had a whole herd of. Sadly enough we lost her in 2009.
