| Herd Sires |
| The four stallions listed on this page are the current herd sires for the Hewes Quarter Horse breeding program. These stallions were selected for specific qualities we felt would be assets to our program, and we have been extremely pleased with the results. Our main focus is quality and that’s what we are getting. At the present time we do not breed many outside mares as we pasture breed only. The stallions are available prior to our May 15th turn out time for normal breeding or coinciding with turn out if you want to pasture breed, but not after. Please call or e-mail us for further information if you are interested in breeding to one of our stallions. |

We were very fortunate to have had Point De Loup as a herd sire. We lost him in the spring of 2004 to colic. He sired 65 foals in six foal crops and left his mark on everyone of them. His pedigree speaks for itself and his excellent conformation and wonderful disposition were icing on the cake. He was one of a kind, marking his offspring with his long hip and beautiful head every time. He crossed well on a wide variety of mares displaying a rare prepotency that every breeder dreams of. We have many of his outstanding daughters in our broodmare band and they are carrying on his legacy producing in fine fashion. Point De Loup was the 2000 Foundation Quarter Horse Registry Sire & Get champion with a son and daughter from his first foal crop. He also has FQHR Halter, Handy Ranch Horse and Ranch Cutting points with a very limited showing.

Sam was sold to breeder, Phil Davis of Pahuska, OK in April of 2007 to live out his golden years breeding a few mares in a loving environment. We have kept back several Sam (Miss Chubby), daughters to cross back on War Harlan (Lady Coolidge, Dixie Beach, Little Sue & Mame Taylor). This cross will be the culmination of our goal to include the gene pool of all five of the great mares we speak of on our homepage into one individual. We are very excited to see the results.
